Design of singly reinforced beam
The aim of design of singly reinforced beam is to decide the size or dimensions of the beam and provide suitable reinforcement. The section designed should perform safely during its life time. Beam is a flexural member which resists loads mainly by bending. design of Singly reinforced beams have steel reinforcement in the tension zone but in doubly reinforced beams steel reinforcement is provided in the tension as well as compression zone.
